Andrew Fontein

Andrew Fontein, formerly of the Las Vegas Premier '89 team, was selected in the third round of the 2012 Major League Soccer Draft by the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Andrew was an exceptional goalkeeper at UC Irvine.  While at UC Irvine he was named the 2012 Big West Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, 2012 All-Big West First Team, and led UCI to its winningest season with 16 wins. 

Andrew finished his career at UC Irvine as the all-time leader in program history with 50 wins, 29 shutouts, 0.88 goals against average, and a .747 winning percentage. 

While playing for Bart Gallia on the Las Vegas Premier '89 team, Andrew led the team to 3 Nevada State Championships.  Coach Bart Gallia said, "Andrew worked for everything he's got.  He is a very coachable player and was the first player to training and the last one to leave.  I am very proud of his accomplishments."
